dean dickinson flew home yesterday after 5 days of fresno pools
definitely a good time and rode a lot of awesome pools, even some legendary spots like hogans which is a permission pool that has been around for like 10 years...pretty crazy that we got to ride our bikes there!

Dean dickinson is coming

i was just reading this article on deans 100 pools, it's kind of old and i'm sure he has ridden many more since then.
Dean is coming back to fresno to stay with me for a week in hopes of finding some sweet pools in the town which is noteable for being pool capital of the world (fresno, CA). should be a good time, and i can't wait!

it was a good time, this week was the first time being out there in about 6 months, sure everything was pretty ruff, but what do you expect with no rain and people riding them all summer
anyways, i'm stoked for the rain to come and the digging to begin, i'm gonna try and put some time in and get the nuggets running smooth and fast

watermarks?

so let me start out with saying i've always been one to think watermarks were very ugly and distracting, but it wasn't untill recently that i started giving them a possible chance.
i am not necesarily intrested in them for the copy write issue (however i was just involved with a stupid argument when a local company was using my photos for advertising and he stated "they should have had your copy write on them" thats another story)

basically i realized in a way i kind of like watermarks as it tells me who shot the photo
i can be browsing myspace and realize i know that photographer or if i like their work i can google the name and find more images to view and possibly be inspired by.

i saw a very simple water mark by Zander Taketomo from city-people.com
his water mark was just in small text; it said the skaters name and the trick, and under was © + his name

i liked it, it gave all the information without hogging from the photo

so what do you guys think about all this, still ugly and pointless to watermark?

it can easily be applied to the photography/graphic design world, when small and large companies or just random people feel like they can use your images/work for free/very little cost.

what to say about aj....he has way to much energy, i'm talking all day everyday, i can't comprehend it. this video is pretty old, but i just saw a high quality version of it so i figured i would post it, i rember seeing this video before i met him, and then the first time i saw him ride this same exact song was bumping in the hanger at woodward west and it was pretty awesome
the song makes me want to party all night

mr. dean dickinson

a few months back some of the profile guys + rob dolecki came through fresno to do some pool shredding. dolecki shot alot of sweet photos but wanted the article written by one of bmx's most dedicated pool sharlpers...aka dean dickinson. few weeks later he got ahold of me and him and my friend brad from portland, OR came through to fresno. pretty good time with some good pool action that has dean talking like he will be coming back for more, i sure hope so.
